Nore Davis (Comedian, "Home Game" available on iTunes & Spotify) came by to talk to us about DMX - Intro, from It's Dark and Hell Is Hot. Rap duo Sharkside performed a few songs! Nore was running AND we forgot to hit record! (we've all been there!) This episode picks up during a conversation with our musical guests Sharkside about West Side Story, which is where they got their name! They also unsurprisingly had a ton of thoughts on Hamilton. Enjoy and reach out to us on twitter or facebook! Our next show is Tuesday, October 11th at 7:30pm at QED in Astoria Queens
This one certainly was surprising. We had Annalise Domenighini come in a few months ago and she chose Wheatus' "Teenage Dirtbag" as her song. Turns out Twitter is excellent and we managed to get Wheatus' main man, Brendan B. Brown, come in to talk to us about Steve Winwood's "Valerie."
We talked to Aparna Nancherla (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Inside Amy Schumer, Whiplash at UCB) about Styx's "Show Me The Way (Desert Storm Mix)" and got to discuss growing up outside of DC, making your own decisions about music, and of course, US military propaganda. Aparna is amazing and you should buy her new album "Just Putting It Out There." She was also recently on Conan!
Welcome to the inaugural episode of Repeater: A Little Show About Big Songs! Our first episode features Josh Gondelman (Writer at Last Week Tonight, Co-Author of You Blew It!) and Kaylyn Marie Scardefield (Singer-Songwriter). We talked about The Old 97's - "You Belong to My Heart" which led to discussions about summer camp, The Boss, Busta Rhymes, hallmark cards, and more!
Join us on September 10th at 5pm for a launch party with some extra giveaways! We're gonna be a podcast! THEN THE SHOW AT 6PM for a whole $5! Music fans Evan Forde Barden & Patrick Cartelli host a monthly talk show about people's favorite songs. They invite a special guest to share a song they love - an all-time favorite, something with a great story, or something that just blew their minds. Then a musician covers and plays a song of their own.
